Vidal Mayor, Navarrese Translation of the Maior Compilatio Vitalis Canellas, Miguel Lópiz de Zandio, Fori Aragonum, Mediaeval linguistic SourcesAbstract
The compilation of the Aragonese Fueros, with commentaries written in Latin by Vidal Canellas around 1247, has been lost. Only a Romance translation has survived, which all the time has been held acritically as written in Aragonese. A careful analysis of the different aspects of such a text, from the graphic to the lexical level, allows to infer assuredly that it is the Navarrese the language into which it has been translated.
