The Loa para el auto sacramental del Sacro Parnaso [Sacro Pernaso] (herebycritically edited for the first time) follows in the footsteps of other loas (prologues)written as preambles for Calderón’s autos. In addition to being a eulogy of Madrid asa devout city and a eulogy of the Habsburg house as having sponsored the sacramentalfestivities, the Loa is the perfect prologue to the auto entitled El Sacro Pernaso inwhich the spectators will be offered questions pertaining to dogmatic theology and anoverall celebration of the Mystery of the Eucarist
