Alarife, un americanismo léxico entre la tradición y la innovación

El caudal léxico del español de América va siendo cada vez mejor conocido en lo que tiene de peculiaridad regional y en su real difusión geográfica, de alguna manera también en lo que toca a su estratificación social. Se está avanzando en la descripción dialectal del léxico hispanoamericano y resultan de no poca utilidad las publicaciones que en los últimos años han ido apareciendo, aunque no son muchas las que se libran de ciertos desenfoques dialectológicos y hasta de la redundancia de carácter gráfico, principalmente debida al fenómeno del seseo o ceceo. Verbigracia, el ya clásico DA trae como chilenismo voltario 'caprichoso, obstinado', voz incluida sin nota en el DRAE, además de dos entradas petiso y petizo que indudablemente deberían unificarse…
