Abstract

This article puts forward and comments on some contexts and words contained in the medieval manuscripts of the Castilian version of El libro del Tesoro by Brunetto Latini which seem to be due to errors in the process of translation, in some cases, and in the process of transmission, in others. Their presence is just another example of how translators and scribes used to work in the Middle Ages and reminds us of the need to turn to the oldest testimonies of a translated piece of work, even though the source manuscript is unknown, in order to interpret the text.
