In 1682, Don Juan de Vera Tassis published two lists of plays circulating under Calderón’s name: one in which he listed those plays he considered really written by Calderón, and another one including those plays which he believed were not his. These lists are the longest of their sort which has come down to us from the 17th century. In this paper, the internal organization of these lists is examined, as well as the possible origin of the knowledge reflected in them, not only so as to determine their degree of authority, but also for what they tell us about the texts which this posthumous editor of 108 plays by Calderón had at his disposal.
