¿Catabathmón o Cáucaso Monte? Una nota al v. 393 del Laberinto de Fortuna de Juan de Mena

En la descripción del orbe universo (estrofas XXXII - LIV) los vs. 383 - 400 (estrofas XLVIII-L) tratan de África y, para ella, como se sabe. Mena bebió esencialmente en el De imagine mundi, una obra atribuida en la Edad Media a San Anselmo. El mayor problema que se plantea en esta parte es la lectura del v. 393. La edición de 1481 muestra un blanco, y en las ediciones de 1489 y 1496 se lee caucaban monte. En su edición de 1499, Núñez corrige la lectura de las ediciones anteriores, apuntando en glosa: «'El Catabathmón fue luego patente'; asý se ha de leer, no 'caucabon monte', como hasta agora corruptamente se ha leýdo...
